This is Tinnitus

It would be a good idea to do some research and discover what tinnitus is, before embarking on a treatment solution for tinnitus.  Once you get a better understanding of what tinnitus is, you can better prepare yourself to fight it and lessen your symptoms of tinnitus.

Most folk simply suffer in silence and have no clue what tinnitus really means to you.

Tinnitus is defined as experiencing ringing, buzzing, or other noises or sounds without the presence of an external cause. Sometimes the noise may be generated inside the ear and is audible to a doctor or someone standing close to the person. In the majority of cases however only the person experiencing tinnitus will be able to hear the noises.

The condition can manifest in one or both ears. While tinnitus is commonly described as a ringing in the ear, there are also other sounds that can be heard such as:

  • Humming

  • Bee like Buzzing Sounds

  • Swishing

  • Running water

  • Ringing and more

Often a  amalgamation of some or many of the noises detailed are heard.

Be aware that there are many different types of tinnitus. Some people are locked into believing that there is only one kind of tinnitus and that if their symptoms don’t fall into this category, it must not be tinnitus.

Here are examples and basic descriptions of the types:

Tonal tinnitus- in this type, you experience a constant sound such as a single note being played over and over. This is often called “ringing in the ears.”

Pulsatile tinnitus- When you experience tinnitus that pulses in time with your heart beat, this is referred to as pulsatile tinnitus.

Objective tinnitus- in this type, the sounds can be heard by other people, not just the sufferer.

Other common tinnitus sounds experienced are cicada like noises, screeching, humming and tapping.

Anyone of the noises or symptoms discussed point to your having tinnitus. It’s this type of close-minded thinking that holds people back in finding the treatment they need and deserve.

The information discussed is simply for research purposes only. No treatment is meant. With all health problems it is best to consult a doctor before taking any medical advice.
